Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) is primarily used for which function?

Wideband Global SATCOM is a satellite communications system that provides high-capacity, secure voice, video, and data links to U.S. and allied forces around the world. Its primary role is to move information quickly and reliably between distant users, acting as the backbone for battlefield connectivity and real-time coordination. The other options correspond to different space mission areas—missile warning, space surveillance, or meteorology—but WGS is designed to transmit information, not sense or monitor the environment.
